Why we love Xero HQ Ask
When we request your records you will receive a separate email from Xero with a link to follow.

We have recently changed the mechanism we use to request your records. That’s all the information we need to get your accounts in order, look for possible tax savings and help you fulfil your statutory duties with HMRC and Companies House.

Instead of a questionnaire, we are now using the Xero HQ Ask tool. So when we request your records you will receive a separate email from Xero with a link to follow.

Reasons we love our new Xero HQ Ask Checklist:

1) IT’S IN THE CLOUD

So we can both view your answers at any point.

2) YOU CAN START IT AND COME BACK TO IT

There is no need to answer all the questions all in one go. We know it can be very off-putting if you need to set aside time to answer our questions. But with Xero Ask you can hop on and off to answer a few questions as and when you get chance.

3) YOU CAN ATTACH SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS AS YOU GO

Rather than send us a separate email with your documents such as bank statements or NHS pension summaries, you can attach them directly to the relevant question on the checklist, keeping it all in one place. Refer to our handy infographic for stuff we will need.

4) WE CAN SEND THE CHECKLIST TO YOUR PRACTICE MANAGER OR BOOKKEEPER AS WELL

We can resend the checklist to difference contacts, so if you need your practice manager to answer some of the questions they can do this easily.

5) NO NEED TO CLICK ‘SAVE’

If you’re halfway through and your laptop battery dies, you don’t lose any of your answers as Xero Ask automatically saves your progress.

6) IF YOU ALREADY USE XERO….

…then you can use the same login address and password to complete our checklist.

7) IF YOU DON’T ALREADY USE XERO….

It is worth noting that Xero Ask isn’t Xero Bookkeeping

If you read our Insights you will quickly gather that we love Xero for managing our client’s bookkeeping. It’s user-friendly, cloud-based and can link directly to your business bank accounts.

But the Xero Ask checklist does not require you to use Xero for your bookkeeping. We totally recommend you do that, but it’s not a requirement for completing our new checklists.

Even if you have never filled out a questionnaire for us before, we really encourage you to use Xero Ask. This acts as a ‘catch all’ and will prompt you about any new income streams or changes to your circumstances.
