In order to make the most of your Facebook advertising budget, you should use a Facebook pixel.

A Facebook pixel works by placing and triggering cookies to track users as they interact with your website and your Facebook adverts. You will need to add some code to your website but once it’s there it will allow you to track data and you can adjust your Facebook advertising strategy accordingly.

Here are some of the ways you can use the data from Facebook pixel tracking:

TRACK CONVERSIONS

You’ll be able to monitor how people interact with your website after they’ve viewed your advert on Facebook. You can see which device they’ve used (e.g. mobile or desktop) and you can see if they’ve gone on to contact you or which treatment pages they’ve viewed. This can help you calculate your return on investment and gives you some insight into what pages people are more likely to visit.

RETARGET

There are a variety of targeting options such as demographic information, geography and online behaviours. I’m sure you’ve experienced it in the past, you’ve been browsing a website and the next time you sign into Facebook there it is as a sponsored advert!

Targeting online behaviours can work for dentists too, if you want to target those people who have browsed the Invisalign page on your website, you need a Facebook pixel.

CREATE YOUR IDEAL AUDIENCE

This one is a little bit scary but it is possible! Facebook can use its targeting data to help you build an audience who have similar likes, interests and demographics to the people already interacting with your website. This will help you reach new audiences who are more likely to be interested in the particular service you want to promote.

Reaching a specific audience means you can tailor your message and only pay for the exact viewers you want to reach; meaning you can make the most of your budget.

REVIEW, LEARN AND REFINE

Using the information above, you can refine your social ads campaign to ensure you are targeting the right people with the right adverts.

Social media advertising can be an inexpensive way to promote your business but be warned, it can quickly burn through your marketing budget if you don’t review, learn and refine your adverts.
