ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an opportunity for an Accountant to join our expanding business, working in our ‘Projects’ department.
The industry in which we specialise has always had a strong need for the support and expertise of our team outside of routine accountancy compliance and you will be helping with the diverse variety of aspects which affect our clients.
A very good working knowledge of current tax legislation would be beneficial but not essential, but a desire to gain further knowledge in this area will be required. Training and support would be provided.
You will have the ability to think and act independently, gaining the ability to interpret and apply tax legislation to client scenarios. Besides a focus on tax, you will also contribute to our accountancy department. With the support of our highly experienced team, you will be given the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of business situations, helping you service all of our clients’ needs including (but not limited to):
- corporate restructuring,
- property restructuring,
- business acquisitions and disposals,
- profit extraction strategies,
- technical tax support,
- allowances claims,
- researching relevant solutions for our industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing/supporting the partner(s) on the delivery of tax projects with technical excellence and a commercial approach
- Conducting business modelling and forecasting exercises
- Supporting clients throughout business acquisitions and sales
- Providing an excellent level of client service to new and existing clients
- Providing support for the accounts department on complex tax issues
- Understanding and clearly presenting technical tax-matters to clients and other members of the team
- Liaising with other members of the team and our business partners to provide a comprehensive holistic service to our clients
- Liaising with HMRC as required in a timely and efficient manner
- Training and developing junior members of the team
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following essential skills:
- 3 years of private practice experience
- Experience in preparing personal and corporation tax returns
- Accounts preparation skills in sole trade/ partnership/ limited company accounts
- Ability to manage and prioritise own workflow
SALARY
£32,000 to £36,000
