As a paperless office, we use Adobe Sign as a way to save paper, time and money. We’ve put together some of the questions we’ve been asked.

What is Adobe Sign?

Adobe Sign is an online system that allows you to electronically sign formal documents.

Is it secure?

Yes.

Adobe Sign meets or exceeds stringent security and legal compliance standards and employs industry standard security practices to protect your documents, data, and personal information. Adobe Sign is certified compliant with ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type 2, and PCI DSS.

Can my business partner co-sign a document?

Yes.

There’s no limit on the number of recipients who are able to sign a document.

If your document requires additional approval by more than one partner or directors you will each receive a copy of the document in turn (once the first recipient signs the next will receive their copy and so on).

Once all parties have reviewed and signed the document you and the sender (in this case Hive) will be sent a PDF copy via email.

Who can see the information on the document?

The information on the document can only be viewed by the email user it has been sent to and the sender.

We suggest documents are not sent to email addresses that other parties can access in order to limit any confidential information being disclosed.

You said you sent me a document to sign but I haven’t received it?

Adobe Sign emails occasionally trigger spam or junk filters, so we suggest always checking your spam folder and add echosign@echosign.com to your contact list to ensure they always land in your inbox.

Will an electronically signed document be accepted by Legal Bodies, Corporations and Banks?

In most cases yes.

We have successfully sent electronically signed documents to HMRC, Companies House, banks, financial lenders and many other corporate entities.

There are some situations where the digital age hasn’t quite reached and the ‘old school’ method of ‘pen and paper’ is required.

What happens to the document once it’s been signed?

Once the document has been signed and you’ve received your copy.

A copy is also saved onto our secure Adobe Sign account, which can be removed if necessary.

We will always retain a copy of the document on your client file.[/x_accordion_item]

How do I actually sign the document?

A useful ‘how to sign a document with Adobe Sign’ can be found here.

Am I able to review and sign on a mobile or tablet?

Yes.

We have found a tablet works best and Adobe sign will adapt to whichever device you view your email on. The link will redirect you to a new web page to enable you to review and sign the document.

A stylus like this one is also very useful.
