Communication is key.
Communication should be clear and concise, it can take many forms from email to mailshot, meetings, or message services. No matter the format used, clarity is of paramount importance as if we are not clear in what we communicate we can create confusion.
At Hive, we try to utilise multiple media as we appreciate that what works for one, does not work for all. Appointment reminders may be most effective if sent as text messages, rather than emails, for example.
There is nothing more important than communication in any business. The quality of our communication with colleagues and clients or patients alike has a huge impact on the quality of our work and the service we can offer.
Different industries and specialisms tend to have their own unique languages or phrases that have specific meanings within them, what may be clear to one professional can therefore be close to meaningless to another, if the industries in which they work differ. As a company that covers business consultancy, marketing and accounting whilst specialising in the dental industry we are acutely aware of this.
One of the devices we utilise are checklists, if you are a client, you will probably have experienced at least one of these. A great example is the first that anyone joining us sees, the Client Fact Find, this takes an average of four minutes to complete but means that when a client has their initial meeting with a member of our team, we can focus the time we have with them on what is of most benefit to them. The brief survey allows us to provide a bespoke experience tailored to be of greatest value to our clients.
At Hive we like to meet and get to know our clients so that we can provide them with the best possible service based on an understanding of their priorities and needs. Whether it is guidance on practice purchase, tax advice or growing your business.
It is part of my role at Hive to act as an advocate for our clients in all meetings.
