Dentists Need Mobile Friendly Websites

Alphabet’s results – owner of Google – highlights the importance of mobile-friendly websites. If you haven’t already, you need to make your dental website mobile friendly to ensure new patients can find you on google.

Google’s parent company surpassed Apple as the world’s most valuable company this week after it released its latest earnings report.  The report separated out the results of its Google business including the search engine and YouTube.

Critically, there was a big gain in advertising revenue from “pay per click” advertising (up 31% across the entire internet, and 40% on Google-owned sites) as mobile is taking over more searches and mobile ads are becoming closer in value to desktop and laptop searches.

This highlights why having a mobile-friendly dental website is more important than ever.

The results, and particularly the rise and parity of mobile search compared to desktop and laptop means having a mobile-friendly, responsive website is now more critical than ever to business success.

Google’s decision last year to prioritise mobile-optimised websites in search results on smartphones, boosting sites that are mobile-friendly and demoting those that aren’t is paying off and reflects how people are conducting their searches for information these days.  If your website is not mobile-friendly you may have been pushed several results down the page— or worst case, off the first page entirely.

It’s very important that you make your website more mobile-friendly, like it or not, you are ever more reliant on search for attracting new patients – highlighted by a study conducted by Google which found that 84% of consumers use search engines to gather information for local purchases – If your dental business is buried, it could mean that you are losing patients to your better-placed competitors.
