Just like us, we are finding dental practices love Xero for keeping their bookkeeping organised, but as we have more and more clients move over to this wonderful software, we want to share all of our secret know-hows with you to make the transition a little easier.

One of the reasons we love Xero is because the software is so user-friendly. We’ve not come across another software package that is so easy to use and to understand. However, clients are often unsure what to do when there is a new feature or who to ask if they have specific questions about Xero.

If this is you, you’ll be glad hear, Xero offers plenty of support.

  • For most of your questions, you will find the answers within the “help button” found on the top right of the screen (it’s the little question mark in the circle).
  • Using the search bar will enable you to find all related videos, guides, forum posts and FAQs related to your specific query/topic.
  • Or should you prefer, you can use the ‘Contact Xero Support’ button to send your query via email to Xero who will respond ASAP.

But our absolute favourite Xero help tool, which many people don’t know even exists, is the demo company.

The demo company allows you to use all the features within Xero without affecting your own data.

  • Not sure how to raise an invoice – try it in demo company first;
  • Wanting to set up your first bank rule – try it in the demo company first;
  • Want to add a new contact – try it in the demo company first.

The list could go on and on but we’re sure you get the picture! Where do you find this amazing demo company? We hear you ask.

To find the demo company you need to go to ‘My Xero’ and at the very bottom of the screen, you will see ‘Try the Demo Company (UK)’. For Xero’s full guide to using the demo company click here.

Take a look at the demo company and if you have any questions about how to use Xero call 01872 300232 or email us at hello@hivebusiness.co.uk.
