Marketing considerations for the new year ahead
The private dentistry world is becoming more competitive every year, so staying ahead means stepping up your marketing game.
December 30, 2024

Let’s face it, the private dentistry world is becoming more competitive every year. With 2025 just around the corner, staying ahead means stepping up your marketing game. But don’t worry — we’ve got you covered with some of the best tips to attract and keep happy patients.

1. Get Friendly with AI

It’s here to make your life easier. You can personalise your communications, streamline your operations, answer phones and use chatbots that can answer questions even at midnight. That’s AI working its magic. It’s a great way to keep your practice running smoothly and impress your patients.

2. Shine Online

Improve your online presence. Here’s how:

  • Optimise for SEO – make sure your website pops up when someone searches for “dentist near me” or “emergency dentist.”
  • Keep Google Business Updated – include your hours, services, and photos to make it easy for people to find you. Add directory listings and citations. Check for name, address and phone number errors across the web.
  • Make It Mobile-Friendly – your website should look great on a phone or tablet.

3. Lights, Camera, Action

Video content is where it’s at. Show off your practice with:

  • Real patient stories (with their permission, of course).
  • Quick clips of smile transformations.
  • Fun and educational videos about oral health. Post these on YouTube, Instagram, or even TikTok to grab attention.

We’ve seen great success with video content for many of our clients in 2024.

4. Love Those Reviews

People trust online reviews almost as much as recommendations from friends. Ask your happy patients to leave a review on Google, and don’t forget to reply. A simple “Thank you” or a thoughtful response to criticism goes a long way.

5. Make It Personal

Nobody likes feeling like a number. Send out friendly emails for:

  • Birthdays (everyone loves a little celebration)
  • Appointment reminders.
  • Special offers on things like teeth whitening or open days. Tailor your messages so they feel personal and not like a mass email.

6. Talk Money, but Keep It Simple

With the population continuing to feel the pinch, it’s more important than ever that, for the vast majority, dental care needs to feel affordable. Highlight your flexible payment plans or dental savings memberships in your marketing. People love knowing they have options.

7. Social Media is Your Playground

If you’re not using your social media profiles, you’re missing out. Share:

  • Behind-the-scenes looks at your team
  • Fun dental memes (because who doesn’t love a good laugh?)
  • Quick tips for brushing and flossing. And remember to engage. Reply to comments and messages to keep the conversation going.
  • Like and follow local businesses

8. Be a Community Hero

Get involved with your local community. Host free children’s check-up days, sponsor a school event, or set up a stall at the local fair. People will remember you as the dentist who cares.

9. Your Brand, Your Style

Your brand is like your practice’s personality. Make sure it’s consistent everywhere, from your logo to your social media posts. If you think your brand needs an overhaul in 2025, we’d love to work with you on creating fresh new branding for you.

10. Track, Learn, Repeat

Don’t just guess what’s working — use tools to measure things like website traffic and patient referrals. If something’s not working, tweak it and try again. Marketing is all about experimenting and learning.

As we head into the New Year, focus on building trust, having fun with your marketing, and making your patients feel valued. Your efforts will pay dividends.
