When I drove home from work on the 23rd March 2020, I didn’t realise that would be the last commute I made for a year (and pending).
As we are all preparing for lockdown restrictions to ease and be lifted in the coming months, it’s inevitable to feel a little anxious and uneasy with what we are going to be faced with.
Is everything going to return to normal in June 2021 like predicted? Will we be back in restaurants, pubs? Contently enjoying a cup of tea with friends and family indoors? Will we be back in our office, taking turns to do tea rounds or will we embrace the changes of the last year and implement them into our now normal routine?
Although the changes were drastic and unexpected, at Hive we have embraced the contrast and have operated in a way we haven’t needed to before, but we have thrived! We have met and exceeded targets, we have grown as a business and we have assisted our clients with some life changing and hugely successful opportunities. So, working from home may be different, but it has proven not to be a bad difference.
We are lucky that technology has adapted alongside us to make this journey not only bearable but efficient. We are provided with applications such as Slack enabling us to maintain team morale and an easy line of communication. Microsoft teams and Zoom are also a favourite for clients and our staff alike, allowing us to participate in video calls to check in and manage our teams, as well as holding online consultations, providing a direct, personalised and authentic experience even from the comfort of the patients home.
It seems that many practices have implemented virtual consultations over the last year and that they are not just a temporary measure in place. Luc goes into further detail regarding the benefits of online consultations in his previous blog and how one of his clients has converted nine out of nine opportunities. Even when patients are freely able to enter and sit within your practice, it sounds as though virtual consultations should be part of your daily operations; something to consider when preparing to go back to ‘normal’?
Most dental practices are now open, however not at the ‘normal’ standard pre-covid. Adaptations have been made, some of which are here to stay, but as you prepare to allow for more than 6 patients to sit in your waiting room without the essential mask (sounds crazy I know), it is important to take a moment to reflect. What are you doing now that you weren’t a year ago? What is working and what adaptations should you maintain going forward?
The burdens due to working from home may be taking their toll or you may find that your practice and team are blossoming. Either way we can help you to prepare for the coming months and more inevitable changes. Our Diagnostic Service allows us to analyse your business and identify areas of development and growth to take the necessary steps to ensure you are ready for the onrush.
