WordPress is a great platform for your dental website, we explain some reasons why it is our website platform of choice.

If you’ve looked into having a new website built for your dental practice you may have found vendors will have hit you with a vast amount of different methods and platforms, from creating a fully customised HTML (HyperText Markup Language) site using industry standard software such as Adobe Dreamweaver all the way to a bespoke CMS (content management system) like WordPress. Both certainly have their place in the web design world, there are no two ways about it; but when it comes down to ease of use for updating and adding content, which in a world where content is King there is a clear winner.

Responsive Design:
WordPress allows you to design for multiple devices, so your website looks great on a mobile phone and tablet, not just a computer/laptop. Responsive web design is no longer an option, it is a necessity.

Customisable:
With WordPress, you are getting a system that is fully customisable allowing you to get a website that looks professional whilst telling patients (and potential patients) about all the treatments you offer.

Updates:
If your practice now offers a new service it’s important to get the information on your website to publicise it. Adding new pages is a simple (and very painless) task.

Plugins:
Like Apple once said: “there’s an app for that”, with WordPress there’s a Plugin for that! If you’re looking for extra functionality to your website such as adding clients to your email database or pulling in your social media feed, there will be a plugin that looks great on your website.

Multi-user:
If you’ve got staff in the practice that you want contributing to your news they can have a login to add content. What makes it even better is you can set what they have access to, meaning they can’t accidentally delete a page or remove an important file.

Backing Up and Security:
Making sure your website is backed up and secure is very important. WordPress is very easy to back up, and there are many secure plugins to choose from to make it more secure than it already is.

These are just a few of the many reasons having your dental website built using WordPress is a great idea, and although WordPress was initially designed as a blogging platform there are more than 74.5 million sites that use it.
